Carlton Ware Pottery is famous for the Guinness output of the 1950s and 60s. These items were made exclusively for Guinness and included a whole host of items. The technique for making them was typical of the perid and therefore it is very difficult to successfully copy them today. Still, when Carlton Ware went into receivership in the 1980s, many molds came into the possession of unscrupulous makers. These people not only made copies, but faked the Carlton Ware backstamp.
